Two successful events featuring talks by Rita Singh as the main highlight were held in Santiago during the third week of October. In her presentations, the Carnegie Mellon University professor examined the unique characteristics of each individual’s human voice and how Artificial Intelligence tools can extract valuable insights for the Health and Security industries.
Dr. José Fernández, CEO of Rayen Salud, in his introductory remarks to Singh’s talk, highlighted the achievements of joint projects with Scanvox, which have brought the benefits of Artificial Intelligence capabilities to the broad population served by Chile’s Public Health sector.
The October 21st event, held at the Hyatt Center Hotel in Las Condes, was hosted by renowned journalist Paloma Ávila. Following Dr. Singh’s presentation and an audience Q&A session, an enriching panel discussion took place with Professor Rodolfo Vega from Carnegie Mellon University; José Fernández, CEO of Rayen Salud; Ramón Molina, Executive Director of the Catholic University Innovation Center; and Wilson Pais, Director of Cloud & Digital Ecosystems at Microsoft Latin America.
The second meeting on Thursday, October 24th, held at Diego Portales University, added depth to Dr. Singh’s current research and the benefits sought in voice profiling, in areas such as health monitoring, intoxication detection, and fatigue identification in heavy machinery operators, all derived from simple phone calls.
Both sessions opened with remarks from our CEO, Mauro Arancibia, who emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing the impact of Artificial Intelligence and the development opportunities it provides.
